In DODGE!, players find themselves in desperate situations where survival depends on speed, reflex, and a bit of luck. Whether it’s a camp killer, a bullet-riddled gangster alley, or a sci-fi alien chase, players must react quickly – or perish messily.
The base game of DODGE! has five Rated Decisions
that can be applied to player actions in each scenario – “Dodge, duck, dip, dive… and DODGE!“.
The Narrator sets the scene – the Scenario for each game of DODGE!. The scenario booklet includes pages of cinematic-themed tables for the narrator to choose or randomly create the Setting, filled with separate Scenes and Actors for the players to interact with during the scenario. These can be Friends or Foes, as chosen by the Narrator for the escape.
Scenarios vary wildly, and each has replay value as the Scenes and Actors change, as do their motivations, and the players will drive the scene with their actions throughout the cinematic setting. As a Narrator, you will feel like an old pro at both playing and running DODGE! scenarios of any flavor after just one game with friends.
The simple dice system determines the degree of difficulty for success and failure, fumbles, or a Critical DODGE! when making the most cinematic decisions to escape!
The Art of Dodge!
Themed and commissioned for each cinematic scenario, the art is drawn by humans, and the graphic design is created by humans during the layout process. Art and content will be added as the project progresses, and the funding goal is just a minimum number to create the base book during crowdfunding.
Art, content, and pages will be added instead of videos and fluff appearances that do not enhance the integrity of the project. Increased pledges equal increased project investment, and that equals additional scenarios and books for those who support what we do. Past projects have proven our starting 20 page promise to have been delivered at 90, so the proof is in our project pudding here at Moon gate.
Learn to Play Dodge!
The summer camp counselors are trapped in an isolated campground at night. An axe-wielding maniac stalks the grounds. Their goal: survive until rescue – or escape!
Camp Blood Moon is the first scenario written for DODGE!, and is included with your pledge. The tables for the scenario blend seamlessly with the core rules for character creation and the order for events listed for gameplay. Even if no one survives, you will have created a cinematic movie of sorts, as everyone at the table does their best to escape a certain death – even at the expense of their friend’s lives!
Camp Blood Moon is the core rule book for DODGE! and can be used to launch multiple slasher camp scenarios. “The Rebel” is one of the playable cliché camp counselor character options.
